Call for papers: "Biosphere Management"

For a special issue of Progress in Industrial Ecology, An International Journal.

Sustainability is rapidly gaining momentum in the international context. It is essential to explore the consequences of increasing greenhouse emissions and pollutants in air, soil and water, specifically suggesting the need to analyse the implications for the anthropogenic and non- anthropogenic resources function.

The increasing concerns regarding the environmental pollution derived from anthropogenic activities, such as the use of fossil fuels for power generation, has driven many interested parties to seek different alternatives. This special issue focuses on the examination of the methods integrating the environmental aspects in the planning and management approaches. The potential solutions could be found and are applied in improving the quality of the environment. We also aim to investigate the health of the biosphere.

The issue will carry revised and substantially extended versions of selected papers presented at the 4th international Conference on Environmental Planning and Management (ICEPM), but we also strongly encourage researchers unable to participate in the conference to submit articles for this call.

Suitable topics include, but are not limited, to the following:
  • Environmental impact assessment
  • Land use planning
  • Pollution and climate change
  • Health, safety and environment (HSE)
  • Environmental education
  • Environmental economic, law and policy
  • Environmental engineering
  • Environmental design
